Job summary

Carpenter Co. is seeking a Material Handler for our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. You will ensure efficient and safe handling of unfinished and finished materials to maintain a smooth flow of goods.

The role requires reading and following production routes, labeling, and accurate paperwork, with exposure to a dynamic manufacturing environment. Training for machine operation may be provided, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Forklift operation ability.
  • Willingness to be trained as a machine operator.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Receive finished product at end of line.
  • Inspect finished goods prior to next process.
  • Label packaged materials correctly.
  • Read route slips and daily schedules.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Assist other production areas as needed.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Material Handler at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for efficiently and safely handling unfinished and/or finished product or material to ensure an orderly flow of raw materials and finished goods.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will maintain daily communication with department management, team lead and other employees in the department. The position must produce product with varying cutting instructions based production requirements. The position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.

Additional responsibilities of the Material Handler will include:

  • Receive finished product at the end of the line.
  • Inspect finished goods prior to passing on to the next process.
  • Place correct labels on packaged materials.
  • Read and follow route slips and daily schedules.
  • Complete all required paperwork correctly and accurately.
  • Assist with other areas of the production area as needed.
Skills / Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to work in a continuous fast- paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability and willingness to be trained to be a machine operator.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
