Job summary

New Weds Foods in Pendleton, Oregon seeks a packaging/forklift operator to support packaging lines and move finished goods to the warehouse, ensuring efficient production flow.

You will operate a stand-up forklift, stock pallets, and assist with paperwork and inventory while following safety procedures. 1 year of packaging experience is preferred; forklift experience is desirable. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year packaging experience in a food manufacturing setting.
• Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment including stand-up forklift.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move product from blending to packaging and to the warehouse.
• Supply empty pallets and materials to pack lines to keep operations running.
• Assist in stacking, loading boxes onto pallets, and perform light lifting (up to 55 lbs).
• Assist with deck dumping and packer operator duties as needed.
• Complete paperwork and maintain raw material integrity.
• Assist in inventory and cycle counts; keep area clean and follow safety procedures.

Job Summary

Performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting packaging goals for customer orders by supplying materials and ready-to-package product to the Packaging lines, and finished goods to the Warehouse.

Essential Functions

• Operate forklift to move product from Blending to Packaging and from Packaging to Warehouse.
• Supply empty pallets and materials to pack lines as needed to keep lines operating.
• Assist in stacking at the end of the line, loading boxes/bags onto a pallet; requires lifting up to 25–55 lbs continuously.
• Assist in dumping product at deck; requires pushing/pulling 100+ lbs.
• Assist as packer operator as needed.
• Complete paperwork as needed.
• Maintain integrity of raw materials.
• Assist in inventory and cycle counts.
• Keep area and equipment clean; follow LOTO procedures when cleaning equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year packaging experience within a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to comfortably operate standard warehouse equipment, including proficient operation of stand-up forklift and load move system.
• Approximately 2 years previous experience in a forklift position/operation is preferred.

Work Environment

The job is performed in the production area where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
