Job summary

White Cap in Orlando, FL is seeking a Material Handler to move finished and unfinished goods through production. You will operate forklift equipment and collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure materials flow smoothly and safely; adherence to safety protocols is required.

A HS diploma or GED is strongly preferred, with 2–5 years of experience. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work under general supervision. White Cap is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

• Reviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Ensures that operators have all the raw materials to operate their equipment.
• Stacks and assembles materials into bundles. Bands bundles.
• Removes empty pallets from equipment.
• Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

• Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
• Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
• None.

Work Environment

• Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Education And Experience

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be a trained and qualified Forklift Operator.
