Job summary

Sonoco in Robesonia, PA is seeking a Material Handler to move materials within the plant using a stand-up forklift. You will support production by delivering finished goods and raw materials to the correct workstations, verify labels, and handle inbound/outbound paperwork. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, accuracy, and timely task completion.

The role requires forklift operation experience, good communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Overtime may be necessary to meet demand.

Qualifications

  • Forklift certification required.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
  • Must have a 'get it done' attitude and urgency to resolve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the stand-up forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Move finished goods and raw materials to proper stations throughout the plant.
  • Check and verify tags/labels for accuracy.
  • Load/unload trucks and manage related paperwork.
  • Maintain inventory and organize warehouse stock; keep area clean and safe.

Job description

Position: Material Handler Location: Robesonia, PA Pay: $26.85 /hr Shift: 2nd: 1:45pm - 10pm *Must be willing and flexible to work overtime when needed.*

While reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for moving product within the plant using a forklift. Other duties as assigned. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced, repetitive, and physical environment. Previous manufacturing experience preferred. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and organizational skills and attention to detail.

What your will be doing:
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient performance of assigned duties and the operation of a stand-up forklift.
  • Support the needs of production through the handling and distribution of finished goods, raw materials to the appropriate workstations throughout the plant.
  • Checks and verifies tags/marking/labels for accuracy.
  • Loads/unloads trucks; processes and maintains appropriate paperwork.
  • Maintains parts inventory; assists with monthly inventory; arranges and sorts warehouse stock.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
