Job summary

Caterpillar South Milwaukee is seeking a Material Handler for Outside Transportation on 2nd shift (3pm–11pm) to support production and logistics. You will safely receive, stage, load and transport materials, and ensure accurate documentation and inventory records in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality and on-time delivery.

Key duties include unloading/loading trucks, operating forklifts, verifying Bills of Lading and packing lists, maintaining 5S workplace

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of shipping and/or receiving experience.
• Minimum 2 years of forklift experience.
• Ability to read Bills of Lading, packing lists and receiving documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform shipping and receiving activities including unloading/loading trucks, verifying materials, and preparing shipments.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and deliver materials.
• Read and verify Bills of Lading, packing lists, and receiving documents to ensure accuracy.
• Load trucks using forklifts while ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
• Complete inventory transactions and support cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
• Identify and resolve material discrepancies and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment following all safety standards and 5S practices.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and workflow.
