Job summary

Menasha Corporation in Orion, Michigan is seeking a Material Handler to load, stock, label and mix raw materials per process sheets, and to operate a Hi-Lo forklift while keeping work areas clean and safe. You will log material lot numbers, ensure proper temperatures in dryers, and support operators to maintain production flow with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience or training.
  • Ability to read simple instructions, memos, and short correspondence; write simple notes.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide; read graphs.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate regrind in correct % and keep grinders clean.
  • Label all materials correctly and identify quantities to be mixed.
  • Log material lot numbers on to P-charts and ensure materials are stocked.
  • Relieve operators for breaks and keep dryers at correct temperature.
  • Move materials using hi-lo and assist with loading/unloading; keep areas clean.

Keep all machines stocked with material.**Responsibilities and Duties:*** Incorporate regrind in correct % and keep grinders clean.* Have all materials correctly labeled. Identify correct quantities of* material to be mixed for the job. Log material lot #’s on to P-charts.* Make sure regrind is used from stock.* Relieve operators for breaks.* Keep foreman advised of any shortages of materials needed.* Keep dryers full and set at correct temperature for material being dried.* Keep all mixing and loading areas clean.* Cut and grind scrap that can not be ground at molding machines.* Keep foreman advised of any machine producing excessive scrap.* Drive hi-lo to move materials (must pass test).* Responsible for adhering to all manufacturing & company policy & procedures.* Performs miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as directed.* Empowerment to take responsibility for the quality of work performed.**Quality Requirements:**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.**Mathematical Skills:**Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.**Reasoning Ability:**Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.**Physical Attributes:**While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Loading and mixing material is a demanding job.
