Job summary

FALL CREEK FARM & NURSERY in Wisconsin is seeking a Material Handler to support receiving, storage, picking and loading materials in our production and shipping areas.

You will handle paperwork, operate forklifts safely, and ensure accurate material movements in accordance with work orders and customer requirements. A high school diploma and 6–12 months of related shipping/receiving experience are required. Teamwork and basic inventory awareness are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend instructions, safety rules, bills of materials, routings, procedure manuals, receiving and shipping paperwork, and memos.
• Complete all required receiving and shipping paperwork and documentation.
• Communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups with employees and truckers.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials, unload trucks, and move materials to storage locations.
• Pick materials per work orders or customer orders and deliver to manufacturing or shipping areas.
• Pack/crate parts for shipment following standard practices.
• Load finished products for shipment onto trucks or delivery vehicles.
• Pickup/deliver materials to customers or vendors as needed.
• Perform routine forklift inspections to ensure safety.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Maintain required computer transactions, paperwork and documents.
• Ensure daily responsibilities are completed, with overtime if needed.
• Follow safety rules and maintain clean work areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive raw materials, parts and components, unloading incoming trucks, and moving materials to their proper storage bins and locations.
• Pick materials or components per work orders or customer orders and deliver to the manufacturing or shipping areas.
• Pack and/or crate completed parts, assemblies or components for shipment to customers following conventional packaging practices appropriate for the situation
• Load finished products for shipment onto trucks or delivery vehicles.
• Pick up or deliver raw materials, parts, components or finished products to customers or vendors as required.
• Perform routine inspections on forklift trucks to ensure safe operating condition.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Create, complete and maintain any required computer transactions, paperwork and documents, etc.
• Ensure work responsibilities are completed daily working overtime, as needed.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Required Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and six to twelve months related experience; or a minimum of one to three years of related shipping/receiving experience; or a related combination of education and experience.
