Job summary

Niktor LLC in Livonia, MI is seeking a Material Handler for a 3-month assignment on the first shift, typically starting at 6 am, Monday through Friday with overtime as needed to meet customer demands. The role focuses on safe, efficient movement and storage of materials, ensuring production areas are stocked and inventory is tracked.

You will operate sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks, locate materials on production orders, deliver to workstations, and maintain a clean, organized warehouse.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, manuals, and other written correspondence.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and inventory management software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Experience operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate material handling equipment such as sit-down fork trucks; order pickers, and pallet jacks to move items between receiving, storage, and the production areas
• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
• Deliver materials to workstations as requested and remove finished goods or scrap from areas in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring aisles are clear and materials are stored in designated locations
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages
• Maintain daily maintenance checks of fork trucks including compliance with end of shift requirements i.e. 5S checklists, charging of equipment, etc.
• Strictly adhere to all facility safety protocols, including wearing PPE and following safe lifting and equipment operation guidelines
• Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and increase efficiency
• Assist with other Shipping/Receiving/Packaging activities as needed
• Other Duties as Assigned

Job Description
