Job summary

The Greenbrier Companies is seeking a Material Handler to load, unload and move materials within the plant, yard, or work site. You will handle incoming material, move inventory and deliver parts to work areas.

Preferred candidates have forklift experience and prior warehouse exposure. Safety and teamwork are emphasized in a fast-paced industrial environment at our Lewistown plant.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work within a team environment, communicate professionally with team members and vendors, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to organize and prioritize projects and information with accurate turnaround under tight timeframes
  • Ability to identify, plan, start, and complete projects or other work that needs to be accomplished
  • Experience driving a forklift or other heavy equipment (preferred)

  • Receives, processes and tags incoming material

  • Performs cycle counting and physical inventories as directed
  • Maintains forklift trucks in clean, good working order

Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site.

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Receives, processes and tags incoming material
  • Moves inventory materials to their respective area
  • Delivers parts to areas in the plant where work is in process
  • Performs cycle counting and physical inventories as directed
  • Maintains forklift trucks in clean, good working order
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to special processes

Employees are required to use personal protective equipment such as steel toe boots, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, welding and grinding shields, etc. or as environmental conditions dictate.
