Job summary

voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation is seeking a safety‑minded Material Handler II to join our Jeffersonville, IN facility. You will move products, materials and equipment with forklifts and other material‑handling gear, while keeping records accurate and supporting production flow.

This role requires experience with multidirectional forklifts, inventory transactions, and training newer team members. Schedule: 2nd shift 3PM–11:30PM; pay range $22.00–$23.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 10-hour training preferred.
• Driver’s license preferred.
• Forklift operation experience required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently move materials and products using forklifts.
• Maintain accurate records and support production flow.
• Operate multidirectional forklifts and handle complex parts as needed.
• Assist with shipping/receiving documentation.
• Perform inventory cycle counts and support annual inventory.
• Mentor less experienced Material Handlers.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $23.50 Hourly

We're seeking a safety-conscious Forklift Operator to move products, equipment and materials in our manufacturing facility.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Under minimal supervision, responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials, products, and equipment throughout the warehouse, yard, or production areas. This includes operating forklifts and other material‑handling equipment, maintaining accurate records, and supporting production flow.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties Other Duties may be assigned

• Material Handler II performs all Material Handler I duties with expanded responsibilities or demonstrated experience and skill. This includes higher level of difficulty such as operating multidirectional forklifts or moving and storing complex parts/racks).

If assigned to Inventory, also:

• Maintain raw material storage areas in a clean, organized manner.
• Deliver raw materials to production lines as needed.
• Receive incoming raw materials and unload raw‑material trucks.
• Independently operate multidirectional and specialty forklifts such as Combilift or similar side‑loader equipment.
• Safely maneuver materials in highly complex warehouse environments or with oversized, long, or difficult‑to‑move bundles or racks.
• Provide assistance, guidance, and hands‑on training to less experienced Material Handlers.
• Serve as a resource for safe handling methods and equipment operation or for workflow improvement opportunities.
• Perform inventory transactions as needed (e.g., ERP system adjustments)
• Manages material flow for multiple production lines or designated zones.
• Works with minimal supervision while prioritizing multiple tasks.
• Assist with shipping and receiving documentation as needed.
• Perform inventory cycle counts as needed.
• Assist with yearly physical inventory as needed. This includes use of scanners, filling out inventory count sheets or staging material for scanning.

EXPERIENCE

• Material Handler I: One to three months related experience or training
• Material Handler II: One or more years’ related experience or training

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 10-hour training (preferred).
• First Aid or CPR training (preferred).
• Driver’s license is preferred.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES THAT ENABLE YOU TO SUCCEED

• Safe operation of forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Ability to use scanners, inventory devices and basic computer systems.
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and load‑stability principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot material flow issues (e.g., shortages, mis‑staged items) and prioritize tasks based on production or shipping needs.
• Sound judgement when moving complex or oversized materials
• Clear verbal communication with supervisors, operators and peers.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Team‑oriented approach to supporting production and warehouse operations – willing to assist coworkers and share information.
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Accuracy in documentation and record‑keeping.
• Professional attitude when interacting with team members.
• Proficiency operating multidirectional or specialty forklifts (e.g., Combilift)
• Ability to mentor or train less experienced team members
• Strong independent decision‑making with minimal supervision
• Advanced understanding of load distribution, high‑risk movements, and safety practices
• Ability to navigate tighter, more complex warehouse environments

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work scheduled shifts and available to train on different shifts as needed.
• Ability to obtain and retain company forklift certifications as needed.

Schedule: 2nd shift Monday-Friday 3PM to 11:30PM

Pay Range: $22.00 to $23.50 ($1.00 shift differential)
