Job summary

Oshkosh Defense in Wisconsin is seeking a Material Handler II to maintain inventory levels and coordinate movement of materials to ensure on-time processing and shipping.

Responsibilities include receiving and entering purchase orders, cycle counting, picking, packing, shipping, resolving discrepancies, and supporting MRPs and audits. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with 3+ years of shipping/receiving experience and forklift certification.

JOB SUMMARY

The Material Handler II will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels through the movement of materials. This role will identify and document incoming and outgoing materials. The objective of this role is to ensure customers having their materials processed and shipped according to schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive and enter purchases orders containing inventory into system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Cycle count inventory to compile with company standards.
  • Pick, package and ship items in a manner to prevent damage in transit.
  • Manage receiving discrepancies, both inter-company and supplier.
  • Report and communicate with several levels of management.
  • General knowledge and Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
  • Perform safety, parts, systems, and processes audits and inspections.
  • Identify and locate parts within the warehouse and branch facility; keep track of parts movement.
  • Develop bills of lading and delivery forms when required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three (3) or more years of experience in shipping, receiving, or a related area. Forklift Certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Experience with Order Picking or Swing Reaching.
  • Experience working in a high-volume warehouse with automated systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Frequent Standing, Reaching, Driving, Hearing, Talking, Visual, Fine Dexterity, Manual Dexterity, Lifting/Carrying up to 35lbs.; Occasional Walking/Running, Climbing, Bending/Kneeling, Typing, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion, Pushing/Pulling up to 50lbs.; Seldom Sitting. Non-Physical Demands: Occasional Communication/Interpretation, Math/Mental Computation; Seldom Analysis/Reasoning, Reading, Sustained Mental Activity (i.e., auditing, problem solving, grant writing, composing reports, etc.), and Writing. Environmental Demands: Frequent Work Alone, Tedious/Exacting Work; Occasional Loud Noises; Seldom Task Changes. Work Schedule: Routine shift hours. Infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation.
