Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of related Manufacturing experience required.
  • At least one (1) year experience driving forklift in a manufacturing setting.
  • Must have prior experience entering data into computer and reading reports such as inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.
  • Unpack material and operate lift assist.
  • Operate forklift to move materials and products.
  • Follow forklift safety procedures and best practices.
  • Input and maintain records of materials received/shipped in the MRP system.
  • Review shipments/receipts for quality and accuracy; verify documents.
  • Expedite shipments affecting the production schedule.
  • Support inventory counts and data entry transactions.
  • Transport items manually or with hand trucks and skids.
  • Collaborate to resolve issues with employees, contractors or vendors.
  • Collect and dispose of scrap material.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safety procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Material Handler will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
  • Ability to unpack material and operate lift assist.
  • Utilizes forklift to transport materials and products.
  • Follows forklift safety procedures and best practices.
  • Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information. Input of information into company software (I.E. MRP system).
  • Reviews shipments/receipts for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
  • Act as shipping clerk liaison by confirming shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
  • Support inventory management activities such as periodic physical inventory and cycle counting activities. Process related data entry transactions on PDA or computer.
  • Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
  • When problems arise, collaboratively resolves issues with employees, contractors or vendors.
  • Collects and properly disposes of scrap, such as cardboard, strapping or other packaging material.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and consistently practices safe work behaviors.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good math and written communication skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Cycle count material
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
  • At least two (2) years of related Manufacturing experience required
  • At least one (1) year experience driving forklift or related motorized vehicle in manufacturing setting.
  • Must have prior experience entering data into computer and reading and interpreting reports such as inventory, etc.
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Lifting products, equipment, packages or miscellaneous items up to thirty (30) pounds unassisted and fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
  • Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools
