Job summary

EK is seeking a Warehouse/Material Handler in the Welding Department to load, unload, and move materials, following work orders and using forklifts or hoists. Responsibilities include staging, inventory checks, tagging, and locating components in the system.

The role requires daily safety inspections, accurate counts, and maintaining a clean work area. Candidates must be able to lift up to 25-50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Stage jobs according to supervisor’s instruction.
  • Performs daily safety inspection of department forklift and completes required paperwork.
  • Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures products coming in and going out of the department.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases and other containers.
  • Uses the job traveler to select the appropriate move ticket for subsequent operations.
  • Safely operates industrial forklift truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products in the Welding Department.
  • Retrieves components and fixtures from inventory according to job traveler, issues components, and verifies counts.
  • Locates components and enters locations in computer.
  • Cleans and organizes work area.
