Job summary

Evotti Marine is seeking a Material Handler for our production facility and yard in Indiana. The role ensures safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials, delivers components, raw materials, and finished goods to the correct departments, and keeps inventory organized.

You will operate forklifts and other equipment, assist with loading/unloading, and support cross‑department operations to meet production goals.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of forklift or heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
  • Proven forklift knowledge and ability to obtain re-certification.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and yard equipment to move, stage, and deliver materials.
  • Load and unload incoming shipments and finished products safely and efficiently.
  • Deliver materials, subassemblies to production areas per job traveler or schedule.
  • Maintain organized staging areas, ensuring materials are properly labeled and stored.
  • Record material movement and maintain inventory accuracy in coordination with production and warehouse teams.
  • Perform daily safety inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and handling equipment.
  • Assist with packaging, strapping, and preparing completed orders for shipment.
  • Follow all Evotti safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times.
  • Support cross-department operations as needed to meet production goals.

Summary

Responsibilities

Required education and experience
  • 2-3 years of forklift or heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
  • Proven forklift knowledge and ability to obtain re-certification.
Preferred education and experience
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the marine industry or similar role operating forklift or heavy-duty equipment with prior experience handling aluminum, tubing, or marine components is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • May assist in training new material handlers or operators as assigned.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, and operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments with exposure to seasonal weather year-round.
Work environment
  • Standard manufacturing environment.
  • Work is performed inside or outside year-round. There is exposure to dirt, dust, noise, equipment, vibrations, and seasonal weather conditions.
  • All necessary PPE will be provided.

  • There is no travel required for this role.
