Job summary

Intek Plastics is seeking a Production Material Handler for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3pm-11pm) in Eau Claire, WI. You will ensure smooth material flow, manage inventories, and support changeovers while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

You will monitor schedules, supply materials to the line, track usage, and keep accurate records. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to sustain production continuity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or 1-3 months related experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety protocols and operational instructions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production schedules to anticipate and prepare for timely changeovers.
• Supply appropriate materials and components to the production line, ensuring accuracy in delivery and documentation.
• Proactively dry materials to prevent downtime and maintain production continuity.
• Clean drying equipment, color mixers, hoppers, filters, and surrounding areas during changeovers.
• Keep presses and production floors clean and ready for operation.
• Return unused materials to storage with tight inventory control.
• Provide coverage during breaks as needed to maintain flow.
• Operate production presses as required to support workflow.
• Conduct scanning and tracking to maintain accurate production records.
• Organize tools, accessories, and products for easy access.
• Replenish supply inventories for upcoming shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare workspace and inventory for the next shift with consistent attention to detail.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned by management.
• Adhere to the Quality Management System.

Position Summary

As a vital contributor to our production operations, the Production Material Handler ensures seamless material flow, efficient cleanliness during changeovers, and precise inventory tracking. You'll optimize production throughput while upholding organizational standards and quality compliance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production schedules to anticipate and prepare for timely changeovers.
• Supply appropriate materials and components to the production line, ensuring accuracy in both delivery and scan documentation.
• Proactively dry materials to prevent downtime and maintain production continuity.
• Conduct thorough cleaning of dryers, color mixers, hoppers, filters, and surrounding work areas during changeovers.
• Ensure presses and production floors are clean and ready for operation.
• Return all unused materials and components to storage, maintaining tight inventory control.
• Provide coverage during associates' break periods as needed.
• Operate production presses as required, supporting overall workflow.
• Execute scanning and tracking duties to maintain accurate production records.
• Organize tools, accessories, and products in a neat, accessible manner.
• Maintain and replenish supply inventories to ensure readiness for upcoming shifts.
• Preserve the orderliness and cleanliness of supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare the workspace and inventory for the subsequent shift, applying consistent attention to detail.
• Be adaptable - assist with additional duties as assigned by management.
• Adhere to and support compliance with the organization's Quality Management System.

Requirements

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred; or 1-3 months of related experience or training; or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply safety protocols, operational instructions, and procedural documentation; capable of composing basic routine reports.
