Eastern Metal Supply, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to receive, store, move, and prepare materials in the warehouse.

The role supports efficient operations by ensuring proper handling, accurate storage, safe transport, and readiness for shipment while following safety standards. Responsibilities include moving materials to designated areas, organizing inventory, restocking, packaging for shipment, and maintaining paperwork.

• Requires ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.

Responsabilidades

• Move materials from receiving or storage to shipping, production, or other areas.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins by size, type, style, or product code.
• Restock materials and fill requisitions for warehouse or delivery needs.
• Stack, assemble, band, and package materials for shipping or delivery.
• Measure, cut and package materials per order specifications.
• Maintain accurate Material Movement paperwork.
• Open boxes, crates, and containers as required.
• Operate forklift inspections and report damage or maintenance needs.
• Load delivery trucks for scheduled next-day deliveries.
• Inspect inventory for damage or deterioration and report findings.
• Assist with periodic physical inventory counts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and work area.
• Comply with company policies and OSHA safety regulations.
• Participate in safety meetings and accident-prevention initiatives.
• Wear required PPE at all times.
• Perform facilities maintenance duties as needed.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, moving, and preparing materials within the warehouse. This role supports efficient warehouse operations by ensuring materials are properly handled, accurately stores, safely transported, and prepared for shipment or delivery while maintaining compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping, production, or other designated areas
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to established procedures (size, type, style, or product code)
• Restock materials in assigned bin locations and fill requisitions for warehouse or delivery needs
• Stack, assemble, band, and package materials for shipping, pickup or truck delivery
• Measure, cut and package materials according to order specifications
• Complete and maintain accurate Material Movement paperwork
• Open boxes, crates, and containers as required
• Operate Raymond forklift inspections and report any damage or maintenance needs
• Load delivery trucks for scheduled next-day deliveries
• Examine inventory for damage, defects, or deterioration and report findings
• Assist with periodic physical inventory count

Education

• Forklift experience a plus, but not necessary
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Lift and carry heavy material up to 50 lbs.; climb, crawl, and stoop to reach material; bend at the waist, kneel or crouch for extended periods of time; reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally
