Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to deliver supplies and materials to required departments and prepare for the next process steps, while maintaining inventory records. You will unload, move, and store materials, follow routing, identify and count parts, and perform cycle counts using MRP systems.

A forklift may be required, and PPE must be worn. The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years shipping experience in manufacturing, and a proactive, self-motivated

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2+ years of shipping experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
  • Forklift experience and safe operation are expected.
  • Familiar with using MRP systems and following work orders.
  • Ability to read labels and count parts accurately.
  • Strong written and oral communication; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, move, and store materials using standardized procedures.
  • Move materials between departments following routing or tickets.
  • Identify, count, record, and group like parts for processing.
  • Prepare materials for the next stage, palletize, and secure with straps.
  • Maintain inventory controls and records using MRP systems.
  • Perform cycle counts and operate a power lift truck or pallet jack.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow safety and quality policies.

SUMMARY

The primary function of this position is to be responsible for deliver ing supplies and materials to necessary departments . Prepare materials for the next stage in the process while maintain ing inventory control and records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Unloads, moves, and stores a variety of materials, parts, or products using standardized procedures .
  • Moves materials between departments: follow routing or tickets to fill orders from storage, stock, or other departments.
  • Must be able to identify , count (including weigh count), record, and keep like parts together.
  • Prep materials for the next stage in process: place materials on pallets, trays, racks, etc., install strapping, bracing, or padding .
  • Maintain inventory controls and records as defined in standard work utilizing MRP systems and devices.
  • Per form Cycle counts and other related duties .
  • Operate a power lift truck, hand truck, pallet jack , or other manual or powered device s.
  • Wear the proper PPE for each task given .
  • Perform other related duties as directed .
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in MRP systems and devices
  • Adhere to all safety and quality policies
  • Familiarity with inventory and scales
  • Follow oral and written instructions and work orders
  • Multitask, self-motivated, and work with little to no supervision
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience working with / dealing with shipping and receiving carriers
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Hi gh school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have 2+ years of shipping experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting
  • Forklift experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Possess fingertip and hand dexterity
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm's length, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds
  • Ability to read and comprehend information on labels
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work around hot machinery
  • Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

No overnight travel required .
