Job summary

Goodwill Manasota is seeking a part-time Donor Services Associate in Bradenton to greet donors, assist in donation processing, and maintain accurate donor records. You will move donations safely through the processing area, operate basic material handling equipment, and uphold Goodwill’s guiding principles and core values.

Responsibilities include ensuring timely processing, maintaining a clean and organized back room, and providing world-class customer service to donors and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Greet donors promptly and cheerfully, within 10 seconds.
  • Assist in the breakdown of donations for processing.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and ensure safe movement of material within the location.
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed and follow safety procedures.
  • Keep processing area clean, neat, and organized to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Follow guiding principles and Goodwill Core Values in daily tasks.
  • Process all donations within 24 hours and report safety hazards or incidents.

Job description

To ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and stewardship of the GGC through donor and customer relations, ensuring the efficient and safe handling, processing and movement of donated goods, quality control, to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities.

SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader Coach or designee is responsible for internal and external world-class customer service, and facility security and maintenance. The essential function is responsible for the greeting of and assisting donors, breakdown of donation, and accurate maintenance of donor records and safe movement of material within the location to ensure the efficient professing of merchandise along with the cleanliness and orderliness of the processing room as it relates to Donated Goods Guiding Principles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensures 100% donor and customer delight.
  • Ensures and provides open and honest communication thatencourages thatall team membersdonot place themselves,donorsor customers in harm’s way.
  • Communicates and supports Goodwill’s drug-free workplace, strivesforandmaintainsa positive work environment following Goodwill’s Core Values and Guiding Principles.
  • UnderstandsrepresentsGoodwill’szero tolerance for harassment, substance abuse, workplace violence, failure to report medical incidents (work or non-work related), and theft or other related offenses.
  • Ensures the efficient movement of goods in the processing area to and from donor door, sales floor, production areas, and in the loading and unloading of trucks, and trailers with general merchandise and donated goods with the aid of material handling equipment as needed.
  • Learnstooperateassigned material handling equipment safely and prudently under general supervision, following the laws of the State of Florida, organizational and safetypoliciesand procedures.
  • Assistwith the donor door as leadership requests andassistin the breakdown of categories.
  • May be asked to greet donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner within 10 seconds;ensuresthatdonor understandsthatunloadsdonations from vehicles, offer tax receipts andmaintainaccuratedaily counts of donations.
  • Responsible for the stewardship of all donated items ensuring that donationsremainproperty of Goodwill, and that donations are notusein a personal nature as they are guided through the Goodwill River.
  • Ensures proper accuracy of donor tracking and counts.
  • Transportstrash to compactor/dumpster andoperatecompactor as needed.
  • Adheres to all Goodwill and personnel policies and procedures; follow good safety practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Team Leader Coach or Assistant Team Leader.
  • Works in a safe manner adheringing to proper handling of material movement equipment and communicates any safety hazards or concerns.
  • Work Quality – Maintains a clean,neatand organized back room andprovidegood stewardship of donations.
  • Work Quantity – Keep River flowing, consistently works with a sense of urgency to ensure that the team meets production count goals.

  • Donors should be greeted in 10 seconds.

  • If you have a pile, you have a problem.
  • Hard goods should be priority processed.
  • Material handling equipment is for moving donations, not storage.
  • Don’tfall in love with your donations… rotation is critical to success.
  • Donor Value should increase.
  • Profits should increase.
  • Follows all Guiding Principles and Core Values.
  • Attend in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader Coach.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader Coach and ATL.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability tomaintaina positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to work under general supervision.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation
  • This position is safety-sensitive and requires drug testing.
