Job summary

NxEdge, Inc. in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Material Handler to move materials across the Precision Machining & Assembly operations, stage for production, and perform local driver duties to support on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes safety, lean principles (5S), accuracy, and collaboration with machining, quality, and logistics teams to maintain production flow and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company and insurance requirements.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (NxEdge will provide certification if needed).
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or inventory systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Move raw materials, components, tooling, and finished goods to designated work centers within Precision Machining & Assembly.
  • Stage materials for machining, assembly, inspection, and shipping according to production schedules.
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other approved equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory movement through ERP system transactions, labeling, and documentation.
  • Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and material reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure materials are stored safely and organized to support lean manufacturing principles.
  • Transport materials between NxEdge facilities and local customer/vendor sites using company vehicles.
  • Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations while operating vehicles.
  • Complete delivery logs, chain-of-custody documentation, and maintain accurate records of transported materials.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Inspect materials for damage, accuracy, and proper identification before movement.
  • Follow all NxEdge safety protocols, including PPE requirements and safe material handling practices.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas to support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with machining, assembly, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Communicate material shortages, delays, or discrepancies promptly.
  • Support special projects, urgent material moves, and operational priorities as needed.

Job description

The Material Handler supports NxEdge’s Precision Machining & Assembly operations by ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe movement of materials throughout the facility. This role is responsible for staging, transporting, tracking, and organizing raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. In addition, the Material Handler will perform local driver duties to support timely movement of materials between NxEdge facilities and approved customer or vendor locations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, supporting on-time delivery, and upholding NxEdge’s quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Material Handling & Production Support
  • Move raw materials, components, tooling, and finished goods to designated work centers within Precision Machining & Assembly.
  • Stage materials for machining, assembly, inspection, and shipping according to production schedules.
