Job summary

NFI is seeking a dependable Material Handler to move materials, loads, and shipments within the Baytown facility, ensuring accuracy and safety.

You will use hand trucks and RF scanning to support inventory, prepare orders, label shipments, and maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with safety standards.

Prioritizing efficiency, you will assist with cycle counts, quality checks, and loading/unloading freight to meet shipping deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs material handling manually or with a hand truck within the facility.
• Loads finished product onto pallets or hand trucks as required.
• Stacks skids or pallets in storage or staging areas.
• Loads and unloads freight safely and accurately.
• Picks and packs customer orders and assembles merchandise for shipment.
• Applies labels to shipments according to requirements.
• Processes orders including picking, checking, sorting, and packing.
• Verifies freight accuracy and checks for damage.
• Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts as needed.
• Uses RF scanning devices to support inventory management.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area following housekeeping standards.
• Performs other duties as required by management.

Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for moving materials, supplies, and finished goods either manually or using a hand truck to designated locations within the facility or onto trucks. This role supports overall warehouse operations by ensuring products are handled safely, efficiently, and accurately. The Material Handler may also provide general housekeeping support to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs various material handling duties manually or using a hand truck within the facility
• Loads finished product onto pallets or hand trucks as required
• Stacks skids or pallets in assigned storage or staging areas
• Loads and unloads freight in an efficient, safe, and accurate manner
• Picks and packs customer orders, assembling various types of merchandise for shipment
• Applies labels to shipments according to company and customer requirements
• Processes orders including picking, checking, sorting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and completing shipment confirmations
• Verifies freight accuracy and checks for damage or infestation
• Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts as needed
• Uses RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management
• Provides cleaning and sanitation services as needed, including sweeping floors, cleaning office areas, and disposing of trash in designated containers or locations
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area by following housekeeping and safety standards
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management
