GENERAL PURPOSE

Receive, store, and pull raw and finished goods through the facility in a safe, accurate and timely manner, along with the proper part tracking.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Moves product, components or materials to or from production areas, warehouse rack locations, staging areas and trailers in a safe, accurate and timely manner.

  • Operates equipment, powered stand-up forklifts and order pickers, and manual two-wheel dollies in a safe manner, ensuring that equipment is kept clean and free of debris.

  • Verifies that the goods match the transaction and ensures that goods are identified accurately.

  • Completes required transaction/paperwork correctly using handheld terminals, personal computers or forms to ensure accuracy.

  • Ensures that powered equipment license is kept current.

  • Follows ISO work instructions related to position and other departmental requirements.

  • Participates in improvement activities.

  • Performs daily safety inspections.

  • Maintains a clean, safe work area environment according to 5s and department safety guidelines. Free from debris on floor, racks, dock areas and trailers.

  • Communicates problems or issues to department supervisor or the maintenance department.

  • Change powered equipment forklift battery as necessary and wears appropriate safety equipment as posted in battery changing area.

  • Performs accuracy checks as required.

  • Flexibility to work varied hours (surrounding assigned shift) as business needs require.

  • Regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.

  • Works overtime as needed.

  • Rotates through the department workstations based on business need.

  • Works independently without direct supervision.

  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency

Licenses and Certifications

Forklift operator’s license required within 30 days of acceptance of position.

  • Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.

  • Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.

  • Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
