Job summary

Redwood Materials is hiring a Material Flow Specialist I in McCarran, NV to support safe, efficient material handling and production readiness. You will move materials, operate PIT equipment, and maintain inventory accuracy.

Material Flow Specialist I at Redwood Materials

Established in 2017, the company is pioneering the production of battery materials in the U.S. from existing batteries, facilitating the transition to renewable energy.

What you'll do
  • Promote a culture of safety compliance, particularly regarding the use of material handling equipment.
  • Handle volatile battery materials following established safety protocols.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including powered industrial trucks and other mechanical aids safely.
  • Assist the operations team in preparing and staging material for production.
  • Work with supervisors to allocate tasks effectively.
  • Engage in specific workstreams such as receiving, inventory control, or loading.
  • Pick and load inventory required for production areas.
  • Manage data and transactions in a Warehouse Management System and generate reports for management.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures.
  • Execute physical tasks as required, including pushing, pulling, gripping, and reaching.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Oversee the internal flow of materials to meet production needs.
  • Receive incoming shipments of raw materials, maintenance parts, and engineering equipment.
  • Participate in physical inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of material flow strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Operate PIT equipment, such as reach trucks and forklifts.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
