Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Material Flow Specialist to ensure the efficient movement of materials to support production and timely receipt of raw materials. You will supervise material handlers and model safety and operational excellence.

This full-time on-site role requires coordinating tasks, training teams, handling inventory, and reporting in the Warehouse Management System. On-site shifts and forklift operation are typical.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading warehouse teams and safety compliance.
  • Background in warehousing and inventory control.
  • Strong command of English, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to contribute at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety compliance for material handling equipment.
  • Coordinate task distribution with supervisors.
  • Train and lead material handlers in receiving, inventory control, and loading.
  • Manage picking/loading for production areas.
  • Maintain data in the Warehouse Management System and generate reports.
  • Lead physical inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Operate PIT equipment (reach truck, forklift).

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recyclingkeeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017,we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.

Material Flow Specialist

The Material Flow Specialist will facilitate the efficient movement of materials to support production, enable the efficient receipt of raw materials, and prepare the shipment of finished goods. Material Flow Specialists will assist Supervisors in directing the day-to-day activity of Material Handlers, and act as an example for safety and operational excellence.

Hours
  • A Shift: 6am – 6pm, Sunday to Tuesday and alternating Wednesdays
  • C Shift: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, every other Wednesday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leading a culture of safety compliance, especially as it pertains to material handling equipment
  • Working with the supervisor to coordinate task distribution
  • Training and leading material handlers in discrete workstreams such as receiving, inventory control, or loading activities
  • Picking and loading inventory needed for production areas
  • Manage data and transactions within a Warehouse Management System and create reports to support management decision making
  • Establish and model quality control mechanisms
  • Complete physical tasks as directed, including but not limited to pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, etc.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area
  • Managing the internal flow of material to support production requirements
  • Receiving inbound shipments from suppliers of raw materials, maintenance parts, and engineering equipment
  • Leading physical inventory audits, cycle counts, etc. to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Developing and implementing material flow strategies to improve operational efficiency
  • Operate PIT equipment, including but not limited to reach truck and forklift
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated safety track record
  • Previous experience in warehousing preferred
  • Willingness to contribute at all levels of the organization
  • Must have a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
