Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a proactive Material Expeditor to ensure timely delivery of materials for rapid prototype builds and production runs. You will serve as a critical link between procurement, engineering, logistics, suppliers, and manufacturing to track orders, resolve shortages, and accelerate deliveries when necessary.

This role supports DoD defense programs and requires strong communication, organization, and ERP/MRP discipline to maintain real-time visibility of material flow

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor open purchase orders and material deliveries, aligning with production milestones.
• Identify shortages or delays and drive timely resolution with suppliers and teams.
• Expedite critical materials by coordinating with suppliers, freight, and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering/procurement to understand BOM changes and requirements.
• Maintain real-time material flow status in ERP/MRP systems.
• Support NPI, prototype builds, and production ramp-ups with material coordination.
• Ensure compliance with DoD ITAR/DFARS policies where applicable.
• Generate material status reports for leadership decisions.
• Assist in resolving receiving discrepancies and supplier performance issues.

Job Overview

Saronic Technologies is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Material Expeditor to ensure that materials, components, and equipment are delivered accurately and on time to support rapid prototype builds, testing cycles, and production runs.

In this role, you will serve as a critical link between procurement, engineering, logistics, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to track open orders, resolve material shortages, and accelerate deliveries when necessary. Your ability to anticipate risks, communicate clearly, and drive urgency across internal and external partners will directly impact production schedules and program milestones.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment supporting mission-critical defense programs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track open purchase orders and material deliveries to ensure alignment with production schedules and program milestones.
• Proactively identify material shortages, late deliveries, or supply chain risks and drive timely resolution.
• Expedite critical materials by coordinating directly with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to understand technical requirements, revisions, and bill of material (BOM) changes.
• Maintain accurate status updates within ERP/MRP systems to ensure real-time visibility of material flow.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and production ramp-ups through focused material coordination.
• Work closely with manufacturing and warehouse teams to prioritize incoming materials and manage physical inventory flow.
• Ensure compliance with DoD procurement regulations and company policies, including ITAR and DFARS requirements, where applicable.
• Generate and analyze material status reports to support leadership decision-making.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies related to receiving, documentation, or supplier performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in materials expediting, supply chain, logistics, or production planning.
• Strong understanding of supply chain workflows and manufacturing operations.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of technical drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) is preferred.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, maritime, robotics, or other high-tech manufacturing industries.
• Familiarity with DoD procurement and compliance standards (ITAR, DFARS, etc.).
• Forklift certification or experience managing physical inventory.
• Experience supporting prototype builds or low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.
