Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Material Expediter for its Collinsville, IL site. The role focuses on inventory and document control with a fast-paced, detail-oriented approach to verify quantities, conditions and paperwork. You will scan documents, update lots, photograph items, and maintain organized inventory.

A high school diploma is required and aviation parts experience is a plus. Responsibilities include bin assignment, shipping prep, and aiding Shipping/Receiving as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior purchasing or inventory control experience preferred.
• Aviation parts knowledge preferred but not required.
• Experience with mainframe and PC databases and calculations is a must.

Responsibilities

• Verify inventory for correct quantity, condition, paperwork, and trace.
• Scan paperwork into OnBase and update lots in Corridor.
• Record crate dimensions and weight for large items in Corridor.
• Photograph items and attach images to lots for sales team use.
• Consolidate and organize inventory.
• Assign bins to new inventory and place on shelf.
• Follow up with customers on outstanding cores.
• Verify cost on parts before invoicing.
• Receive unexpected parts.
• Assist Shipping and Receiving as needed.
• Prepare part for shipment; verify PO and core accuracy.
• Research vendor invoices in OnBase workflow and resolve.
• Cut and modify crates as needed.

What you can expect as a Material Expediter at DAS Aviation:

This position requires knowledge of inventory and document control with an energetic work ethic able to adapt with changing priorities. Daily job requirements remain consistent but can change as assigned by your Manager not limited to, verifying inventory for correct quantity, condition, paperwork, and trace. Scan paperwork into On Base and update lots in Corridor. Large Items in crates need width, height and length along with weight of crate into lots in Corridor. Some items will need photographed and attached pictures to lots for sales team to use. You will also consolidate and organize the inventory. You will assign the bin locations to new inventory and place on shelf.

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including

• Verifying inventory for correct quantity, condition, paperwork, and trace.
• Scan paperwork into On Base and update lots in Corridor.
• Large Items in crates need width, height and length along with weight of crate into lots in Corridor.
• Some items will need photographed and attached to the lot in inventory.
• Consolidate and organize inventory.
• Assign bins to new inventory and place on shelf.
• Follow up with customers on outstanding cores.
• Verify cost on part is correct before part is invoiced.
• Receive unexpected parts.
• Assist Shipping and Receiving as needed.
• Verify PO and core for accuracy and prepare part to be shipped.
• Research vendor invoices that are sent to our work flow in On base and resolve.
• Cut and modify crates using small handheld saws and drills.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

What you’ll need to bring with you:

A High school diploma or equivalent.

A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience

Prior purchasing or inventory control experience is preferred.

Aviation specific experience in purchasing parts is ideal but not required.

Having previous computer experience with mainframe and PC databases, internet use, and working with numbers/calculations is a must.

Must be well organized, have a high attention to detail, strong written/verbal/analytical and interpersonal skills and the capability to work with minimal supervision.

Compensation & Benefit Information

The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $29 - $35. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
