Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

• 10 to15 years experience in materials engineering in a manufacturing environment for products made of plastic, paper, or related materials
• Hands-on floor-level leadership experience in a light manufacturing environment with high volume component products
• Experience with manufactured products made from materials with extruded plastic, laminated materials, or other sophisticated raw materials of paper or plastic desired
• Process experience in extrusion or laminating of materials, injection molding, or other similar continuous manufacturing process operations ideal
• Materials experience in plastics, polyester, polyimide, polyethylene, styrene, Nomex, Mylar, etc.
• Experience with adhesives, solvents, etc.
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems with mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic processes
• Experience in lab or testing facilities leading to manufacturing a product
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a union and non-union production facility
• Decisive and can make decisions on-the-go with limited data
• Open-minded, educator/mentor, problem solver, people person, dedicated
• Bias for action and attention to detail

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Material Science or related.
• Understands Theory, but has hands-on experience of materials, manufacturing technique, etc.
