Responsibilities
- 10 to15 years experience in materials engineering in a manufacturing environment for products made of plastic, paper, or related materials
- Hands-on floor-level leadership experience in a light manufacturing environment with high volume component products
- Experience with manufactured products made from materials with extruded plastic, laminated materials, or other sophisticated raw materials of paper or plastic desired
- Process experience in extrusion or laminating of materials, injection molding, or other similar continuous manufacturing process operations ideal
- Materials experience in plastics, polyester, polyimide, polyethylene, styrene, Nomex, Mylar, etc.
- Experience with adhesives, solvents, etc.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems with mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic processes
- Experience in lab or testing facilities leading to manufacturing a product
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a union and non-union production facility
- Decisive and can make decisions on-the-go with limited data
- Open-minded, educator/mentor, problem solver, people person, dedicated
- Bias for action and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Material Science or related.
- Understands Theory, but has hands-on experience of materials, manufacturing technique, etc.
