Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate mailroom equipment and maintain organized mailroom operations.

Must be authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing, full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Purpose

To assist with the collection, sorting, processing, and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail and packages. Expedite processes by making decisions for efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and copiers. Maintain organized mailroom operations and inventory of mailing supplies.
  • Operate a university vehicle when making pickups and deliveries on predetermined schedules and routes. Record vehicle mileage and report all accidents and vehicle maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist with mail preparations, including weighing, stamping, and labeling in accordance with postal regulations.
  • Provide clerical support in receiving materials and supplies. Responsible for checking, sorting, and issuing supplies, and for maintaining and preparing shipping records.
  • Assist in preparing and/or operating addressing and inserting equipment. Assist with the preparation of outgoing shipments.
  • Report any damages or shortages of materials to the supervisor. May perform minor repairs and adjustments to mail equipment.
  • Perform special deliveries or pickups as assigned. Assist with mailroom organization and cleanup. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma (High School) or GED and at least 1 year of experience in stock handling, experience with office and postal equipment, accounting for property, and maintaining records.
  • 6 months of work experience in courier or delivery service.
  • Demonstrated organization and time management skills, including the ability to minimize the workload of others.
  • Ability to adapt to change and maintain flexibility.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to work in a team environment which includes receive direction, cooperate with supervisor, co-workers and work independently.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of direct work experience with warehouse equipment, stock handling and maintaining records.
  • Delivery driver experience.
  • Box Truck driving experience.
Driving Required
  • Yes-Texas Class C, Driver's License
Salary Range
  • $41,600 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
  • This position is located on Campus- Montopolis Research Center-MR1
  • Considerable time spent lifting, bending, stooping, and standing.
  • May work outside in all weather conditions.
  • May work under pressure to meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Must dress for the weather as employee will be in and out of office building while making deliveries.

  • Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Employment Eligibility

Retirement Plan Eligibility
