Job summary

Trystar Inc. is seeking a Material Coordinator for our Materials Department in Houston, TX. This role reports to the Materials Supervisor and ensures the right inventory is in the right place at the right time to support production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read instructions, safely operate machines and visually inspect raw materials.
• 2 years of material handling experience in manufacturing or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience using an ERP system.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and set priorities.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must read/write English for plant directives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate material handling delivery according to production needs.
• Define, improve, and uphold process standards.
• Understand and execute material transactions using Epicor ERP.
• Read and execute SOPs to operate equipment and manufacture product.
• Interpret production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles in the plant.
• Read job travelers, pick lists, and system workflows.
• Clean, restock, and organize the warehouse area.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Trystar's team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Material Coordinator for our Materials Department. This position, reporting to our materials supervisor, plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar's Material Coordinator position is an important part of Trystar's plan to become the world's foremost custom solution provider.

Under the direction of the Materials Supervisor, the Material Coordinator will be responsible for helping to execute our Materials team mission of having the right inventory, in the right place, at the right time.

In this role you will get to:

• As a self-starter, ensure timely and accurate material handling delivery according to the needs of your production stakeholders.
• Help to define, improve, and uphold process standards.
• Understand and execute all types of material transactions using Epicor (ERP).
• Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) which are necessary to properly operate the equipment and manufacture the product.
• Ability to comprehend and act on a production schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Operate various powered industrial vehicles within the plant.
• Ability to read and understand job travelers, pick lists, and system generated workflow assignments.
• Clean, restock, and organize the warehouse area.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma
• Ability to read instructions, safely operate machines and visually inspect raw materials.
• 2 years of experience of material handling in a manufacturing environment or proven knowledge and understanding of material handling best practices.
• Experience using an ERP system.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and set priorities.
• Outstanding attention to detail, organizational and coordination abilities.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc.
• Frequent lifting, standing, bending & reaching required.
• Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, this includes but is not limited to, Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection.
