Job summary

How you will contribute

• We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be responsible for site receiving and inventory control for small parts.
• This individual will be responsible for receiving against the supplier paperwork as material is unloaded, including checking materials for quality standards as received.
• Control movement of materials to work and stations or to storage areas based on requirements supplied by the Supervisor or others.
• Check incoming raw material against the supplier paperwork as it is unloaded
• Check material for markings
• Check BOL, Certified Mill Test reports and match to PO
• Note discrepancies on the physical receipt of material on the BOL
• Receive and unload materials.
• Catalog and mark materials to insure proper storage.
• Enter data and complete required reports.
• Maintain paperwork on arriving materials and distribute to the appropriate person.
• Assemble kits per manufacturing requirements in advance of the production schedule
• Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on\-time product without errors.
• Use various types of material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes to unload and move materials.
• Complete TPM inspection of the forklift and cranes in\-use and rigging equipment on a daily basis.
• Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management.
• Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures.

What it takes

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is desired
• Knowledge of various receiving and inventory storage procedures
• Basic computer knowledge
• Able to learn and work according to Valmont’s environmental policies
• Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
• Prior forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
• An understanding of job‑related programs
• Knowledge of Valmont’s quality procedures, standards, and practices
• Experience with IFS software systems
• Ability to work independently on tasks to meet deadlines
• Able to analyze situations to resolve problems
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
