Job description

Responsibilities

Working from blueprints, Bell Process Specifications, drawings or written specifications, the employee performs all necessary layouts and prepares parts or articles composed of like or unlike materials for pressure bonding process. Plans operations and performs assembling, fitting, and trimming as required, applies either liquid or solid bonding agents, and uses various production aids such as jigs, fixtures and hand tools. Checks all work to ensure proper selection and application of bonding agent, correct assembly and fitting, etc., and places articles in a pressure furnace. Controls heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and bonding agent used. Maintains close watch over furnace controls during bonding process, insuring a successful bond and preventing damage to articles. Checks finished articles. Responsible for safe operation of equipment.

Qualifications

Two years metal fitting or forming experience, with one year in bonding work including operation of a pressure furnace, or two years experience as Bell Material Bonder B or Material Bonder – I, or one year Bell Material Bonder B experience combined with one year metal fitting or forming experience. All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
