Job summary

Hyundai MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC is seeking a BSA Material Assistant Manager to oversee material purchasing, inventory control, and logistics to ensure uninterrupted production. The role partners with suppliers, internal teams, and headquarters to maintain efficient material flow, accuracy, and supply chain performance.

You will manage purchase orders, support changes, and coordinate global import/export activities while driving continuous improvements in inventory

Responsibilities

• Oversee material purchasing, inventory control, logistics, and customs compliance to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Serve as primary point of contact for suppliers, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
• Monitor material requirements, inventory levels, supplier performance, and potential shortages.
• Maintain purchase orders, inventory records, and material master data within SAP and related systems.
• Coordinate engineering changes, production requirements, and new program launches to ensure timely material availability.
• Oversee import/export activities, customs clearance, trade compliance, and duty management.
• Develop and maintain logistics processes, transportation plans, warehouse layouts, and material flow strategies.
• Monitor logistics costs, inventory accuracy, and key supply chain performance metrics.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory management, logistics operations, and supply chain efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with FIFO, inventory control procedures, and company material management standards.
• Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, movement, cycle counting, and returnable packaging management.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and headquarters teams.
• Prepare reports, analyze data, and recommend actions to improve operations and reduce costs.
• Supervise, train, and develop hourly warehouse staff, including performance management and employee relations support.
• Support plant startup activities, business growth initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management


• 5+ years of experience in automotive material management, purchasing, inventory control, customs, or logistics.


• Experience in Just-in-Sequence (JIS) manufacturing environments.
