Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic MAT Registered Nurse for the Cambria County Jail in Ebensburg, PA.

This full-time day shift role focuses on monitoring and evaluating nursing care in line with PCM philosophy and objectives, reporting to the Medical Director or mid-level practitioner. The MAT RN will join a team providing care to inmates receiving medicated assisted treatment, including passing medications, coordinating care, and maintaining strict documentation and security

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Pennsylvania.
• Experience with MAT or addiction treatment settings preferred.
• Ability to make clinical decisions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure MAT team meets established nursing standards.
• Assess and provide comprehensive treatment while maintaining security requirements.
• Pass MAT medications to inmates receiving treatment.
• Monitor and evaluate treatment services for MAT patients.
• Verify and document MAT medication compliance and recordkeeping.

PrimeCare Medical, Inc is looking for enthusiastic and hard-working MAT Registered Nursesin the medical department at the Cambria County Jail in Ebensburg, PA. In this role, the RN will monitor and evaluate nursing care in accordance with PrimeCare Medical (PCM) philosophy, goals and objectives. This position will directly report to the Medical Director or other mid-level practitioner.
Available Shift: full time day shift

Job Responsibilities

The Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT)Registered Nurse will primarily be responsible for ensuring that the MAT team complies with established nursing standards. In addition, the MAT Registered Nurse will also assess and provide comprehensive treatment of care while observing and maintaining security requirements.

• The MAT Registered Nurse will be part of a team that provides care to inmates who receive medicated assisted treatment (suboxone, subutex, methadone, sublocade, etc)
• This nurse will be responsible for passing MAT medications
• Monitoring treatment services for all of the patients who receive medicated assistant treatment
• Monitoring and recommending methods to improve operational efficiency and cost containment effectiveness for the MAT team.
• Verifying medication compliance with MAT medications
• Providing other services and performs other duties as assigned by Nurse Supervisor, Health Services Administrator, head nurse, or corporate staff.
• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws
• Providing health counseling to inmates/patients
• Conducting sick call for inmate/patients and provide provisional diagnosis and treatment for selected minor illnesses and injuries defined by written protocol and approved by PCM Director
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmate/patients and participates in the formulation of the plan of nursing care
• Implementing treatment care plans which promote maintain and restore the well-being of inmate/patients
• At a minimum of every shift, at the beginning of the shift, taking vital signs, doing a complete assessment and documenting findings on dispensary care of all inmates/patients housed in the medical unit and/or mental health unit.

This position provides a 2-week orientation period where you will be training on-the-job and shadowing with the nursing staff.
