Qualifications

Position Summary

Person in this position is responsible for supervision, management, and provision of Psychiatric / MAT services for the Residential Program and the MAT Outpatient Programs, as well as for conducting the History and Physical for the Residential Program.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and psychotropic medication management for specified programs.
• Conduct the admission History and Physical for the Residential Program.
• Consistently implement the Medical Clearance Procedure (MCP).
• Prescribe medications for patients within scope of practice.
• Review laboratory results and make appropriate recommendations or referrals.
• Develop protocols and determine medication needs to manage expected pharmacological interventions.
• Work closely with the Admissions Department to ensure smooth patient care and consistent implementation of MCP.
• Participate in clinical staffing decisions regarding patients’ strengths, resources, and additional needs.
• Complete documentation of services in EHR in a timely manner.
• Provide input into patients’ treatment needs and disposition.
• Assist other WestCare staff in a collaborative manner to promote integration, cooperation, and a professional image to the community.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with communities served (Broward and Dade County).
• Vaccine compliance as required by local, state, federal, and funding agencies; Human Resources will provide information as necessary.

Licensure / Certification

• Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Florida.
• Active DEA license.
• Active NPI number.

Working Conditions

• Work performed primarily in a professional office at the Pembroke Pines Campus with services delivered face‑to‑face or via telehealth.
• Some travel may be required.

Physical and Mental Demands

Required physical activity includes standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; use of computer and telephone systems; defensive skills in abusive situations. Requires hearing, vision, and the ability to collect and analyze complex data, work under stress, and collaborate with clients, staff, and the public.
