Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia in Fairfax is seeking a Mat Pilates Instructor for part-time and substitute work. The role focuses on delivering quality Mat Pilates programming to our members, with Reformer experience a plus, under the Fitness Director.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized Mat Pilates certification.
• CPR/AED certification.
• Must be well-organized, punctual, and prepared when scheduled to instruct class.
• Must be able to think independently and develop routines for teaching specific exercise classes.
• Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining a safe environment for exercising.
• Arriving to teach class in advance of the scheduled time to greet participants, answer questions and address concerns.
• Arriving well-prepared, music cued, and routine thought out.
• Sharing educational information with your class participants.
• Teaching classes with energy and enthusiasm.
• Motivating class participants to the best of your ability.
• Keeping up to date on safety and fitness trends.
• Reporting any equipment/facility problems to the Fitness Facility Manager or Fitness Director.
• Begin and end all classes on time.
• Ensure that class areas are clean prior to and after classes.

Position Title: Mat Pilates Instructor

Classification: Part-Time and Substitute Employment

The Mat Pilates Instructor is responsible for providing quality Mat Pilates programing and classes designed to meet the needs of our members at the Pozez JCC. Reformer experience is a plus.

Outside of their Mat Pilates instructor position, J-Fit Instructors have the flexibility to pick up additional fitness staffing opportunities which include, but are not limited to support desk hours, personal training, private specialty training, small group training, and on-site workshops. The Mat Pilates instructor reports to the Fitness Director.

Flexible, 7 days a week. Preferred times of availability: weekdays 7AM-1PM and/or 4PM-8PM.
