Job summary

AH Furniture in Houston, TX is seeking a full-time on-site Upholsterer to restore and reupholster fabric and vinyl seating and furniture.

You will remove old upholstery, measure and cut materials, sew, pad, fit, and attach coverings; perform minor frame and spring repairs; read work orders and select materials; maintain tools; ensure quality and safety; collaborate with team and interact with clients as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with furniture reupholstery and seating restoration.
• Ability to work with tapestry and decorative fabrics for furniture.
• Proficient sewing for stitching, repairing, and fitting upholstery materials.
• Attention to detail, manual dexterity, measuring and cutting materials accurately.
• Experience using upholstery tools and equipment in a workshop environment.
• Ability to stand, bend and lift moderate weights on-site.
• Effective communication and teamwork; follow work orders and meet deadlines.
• Previous upholstery or related trade experience preferred; vocational training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Restore and reupholster fabric and vinyl seating and furniture.
• Remove old upholstery, measure and cut materials, and install new coverings.
• Sew, pad, fit, and attach upholstery components.
• Perform minor repairs on frames and springs as needed.
• Read work orders, select appropriate materials, and maintain tools and equipment.
• Ensure finished products meet quality and safety standards.
