Job summary

Biztec LLC is seeking a Master Technician, the senior technical lead on our field team. You will own complex security projects from start to finish, set technical standards, and mentor technicians at all levels. Expertise across access control, video surveillance, intrusion, low-voltage systems, and IP networking is required.

Qualifications

  • Seven+ years of experience installing, integrating, and troubleshooting physical security and low-voltage systems.
  • Active licenses (two or more of Alarm, ELE, Low Voltage).
  • Expert knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion, and low-voltage cabling.
  • Strong IP networking knowledge for security systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and riser diagrams; proficient with tools and test equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced system design support, programming, commissioning, and integration across platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve the most difficult system, network, and integration issues.
  • Set and enforce installation standards, quality control, and code compliance across job sites.
  • Lead, train, and mentor technicians; develop the technical skills of the team.
  • Partner with project managers on planning, scope, materials, sequencing, and problem resolution.
  • Conduct final inspections, system testing, and client walkthroughs at project closeout.
  • Represent Biztec as a technical expert in front of clients and contractors; maintain tools and vehicle.
  • Champion safety practices and company policies on every job site.

About The Role

Biztec LLC is seeking a Master Technician — the most senior technical role on our field team. As the top installer and troubleshooter, you'll take ownership of the most complex commercial physical security projects from start to finish, set the technical standard for the entire crew, and serve as the go-to expert for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, low-voltage systems, and IP networking. Beyond hands-on mastery, you'll lead and mentor technicians at every level, drive quality control across job sites, and partner with project managers to ensure every installation is delivered to code, on schedule, and to Biztec's highest standard. This role is built for a seasoned professional who holds multiple licenses and brings deep, wide-ranging expertise to the field.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure all work meets NEC, manufacturer, and applicable code requirements. Represent Biztec as a technical expert in front of clients, general contractors, and other trades. Maintain tools, test equipment, company vehicle, and inventory to a professional standard.
  • Champion safety practices and company policies on every job site.
What You Bring
Required
  • Multiple active licenses (two or more of: Alarm, ELE (Electrical), and Low Voltage).
  • 7+ years of experience installing, integrating, and troubleshooting physical security and low-voltage systems.
  • Expert-level knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion/alarm, and low-voltage cabling.
  • Strong working knowledge of IP networking as it applies to security systems.
  • Expert familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable standards. Proven ability to lead crews, mentor technicians, and manage on-site quality.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and mark up blueprints, schematics, and riser diagrams. Advanced proficiency with hand and power tools and test/commissioning equipment. Comfortable working on ladders and lifts, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred
  • NICET certification (Level II or higher).
  • Multiple manufacturer certifications across access control, video, and intrusion platforms. Experience across commercial, healthcare, education, or institutional environments.
  • Prior experience mentoring or supervising a technical team.
Travel & Schedule
  • This role requires weekly travel to job sites.
  • Per diem is provided, and hotel/lodging is paid for by the company while traveling.
  • At times, work may follow a 14-day-on / 7-day-off rotation schedule.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly pay: $35–$50 per hour, depending on experience and licensing.
