  • Develop and manage the master production schedule for all active projects.

  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Operations to ensure material availability.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP data including BOMs, routings, lead times, capacity.

Salary: USD50 - USD60 per hour

Master Scheduler - Manufacturing Operations

Location: Bloomington, MN (100% Onsite, 5 Days/Week)
Pay Rate: $50 - $60/hour
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to oversee production planning and scheduling across multiple projects, internal manufacturing operations, and external vendors. This role is responsible for ensuring customer delivery commitments are met by developing and maintaining accurate production schedules, proactively addressing capacity constraints, and coordinating resources across the organization.

The ideal candidate thrives in a manufacturing environment, excels at balancing multiple priorities, and has a strong understanding of critical-path scheduling, capacity planning, and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the master production schedule for all active projects.
  • Align production capacity, labor, materials, and vendor timelines to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints and implement solutions before they impact production.
  • Monitor project milestones and communicate potential delays or risks to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Project Managers to establish realistic production and completion timelines.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure materials are available to support production schedules.
  • Work closely with Operations to align production plans with manufacturing capabilities and shop floor resources.
  • Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems, including bills of materials, routings, lead times, and capacity information.
  • Support inventory accuracy and material availability to prevent production disruptions.
  • Determine purchasing timelines based on production requirements and customer commitments.
  • Continuously adjust schedules to meet changing priorities while maintaining delivery performance.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, master planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain planning.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, capacity planning, and scheduling principles.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Operations, Purchasing, and Project Management teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Demonstrated expertise in critical-path and network scheduling, including managing dependencies, critical paths, and schedule float.
  • Hands-on experience with finite-capacity planning and constraint-based scheduling methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across shared resources and outside vendors.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to build schedules based on realistic lead times, resource availability, and operational constraints.
  • Proactive approach to identifying risks and resolving issues before they impact production or customer delivery commitments.
