Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Master Scheduler to develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Integrated Master Plan (IMP) for a DoD system upgrade. The role requires coordinating with engineering, program management, logistics, and government stakeholders to ensure schedule integrity and cadence with Navy/Air Force reporting timelines.

You will manage critical path activities, support EVM, and present schedule briefings for IPMRs and customer reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field; 10+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, baseline, and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Integrated Master Plan (IMP).
  • Coordinate with functional leads to capture and sequence all program activities.
  • Manage schedule integration for new hardware and software development in a receiver system.
  • Identify and track Critical Path and Near-Critical Path activities; provide risk assessments.
  • Conduct regular schedule status updates, variance analysis, and health assessments.
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and integration with cost baseline.
  • Prepare and present schedule briefings for internal reviews and customer milestones.
  • Coordinate with government counterparts for Navy/Air Force program office alignment.
  • Identify schedule risks and opportunities; maintain a Schedule Risk Register.
  • Ensure schedule compliance with DoD 5000-series and related directives.
  • Support Change Control Board (CCB) activities by assessing schedule impacts.
  • Maintain schedule configuration control and version management.

Description

The Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in support of a system modification and upgrade program. This effort involves the integration of new hardware and software components into an existing receiver system. The Master Scheduler will work closely with program management, systems engineering, hardware/software development teams, and government stakeholders to ensure schedule integrity, identify critical path activities, and support program execution in accordance with DoD, Navy, and Air Force acquisition policies and procedures.

This role is a fully ON-SITE role in San Diego, CA with 10% travel involved
Key Responsilbilites:
  • Develop, baseline, and maintain theIntegrated Master Schedule (IMS)andIntegrated Master Plan (IMP)in accordance with DoD scheduling best practices and DCSA/DCMA guidelines
  • Coordinate with all functional leads (Systems Engineering, Hardware, Software, Integration & Test, Logistics) to capture and sequence all program activities
  • Manage schedule integration fornew hardware and software developmentactivities being incorporated into an existing receiver system
  • Identify and track theCritical PathandNear-Critical Pathactivities; provide schedule risk assessments and mitigation recommendations
  • Conduct regularschedule status updates, variance analysis, and schedule health assessments
  • SupportEarned Value Management (EVM)reporting and integration with the program's cost baseline(i.e. if applicable)
  • Prepare and present schedule briefings for internal program reviews (IPRs), customer reviews, and milestone decision reviews
  • Coordinate with government counterparts to ensure schedule alignment withNavy and Air Force program officerequirements and reporting timelines
  • Identify schedule risks and opportunities; maintain aSchedule Risk Registerand support quantitative schedule risk analysis (QSRA) as required
  • Ensure schedule compliance with applicableDoD 5000-series acquisition policies, Navy NAVSEAINST/NAVAIRINST, and Air Force AFI/AFPD program management directives
  • SupportChange Control Board (CCB)activities by assessing schedule impacts of proposed changes
  • Maintain schedule configuration control and version management
Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Bachelors in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Years of experience in lieu of degree to be taken into consideration.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an Active Secret clearance to start
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
  • 6+ yearsof experience as a Master Scheduler or Integrated Master Scheduler on DoD programs
  • Demonstrated experience supportingsystem modification, integration, or upgrade programsinvolving hardware and software development
  • Experience supportingNavy and/or Air Forceprograms with knowledge of applicable acquisition processes and reporting requirements
  • JIRA/MS Project - Proficient in using JIRA for tracking software development tasks, sprints, and linking agile activities to the master schedule, and MS Project for IMS development, resource loading, and critical path analysis
DoD / Government Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding ofDoD acquisition lifecycle(DoDI 5000.02 / 5000.85)
  • Familiarity withNavyprogram management processes (NAVSEAINST, NAVAIRINST, PEO structures)
  • Familiarity withAir Forceprogram management processes (AFI 63-101/20-101, AFPD 63-1)
  • Knowledge ofDCMA scheduling guidelinesand IMS/IMP best practices
  • Understanding ofMIL-STDand system integration requirements as they relate to scheduling
Desired Skills:
  • Experience withAgile/Hybridprogram scheduling (linking JIRA sprints to IMS milestones)
  • Experience withQSRA (Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis)using tools such as Acumen Fuse or Oracle Risk Analysis
  • Prior experience onreceiver system modificationsor similar RF/communications system upgrades
  • Familiarity with system level reviews or equivalents, i.e.; SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
