JOB DESCRIPTION The Materials Scheduler/Service Coordinator oversees the planning, scheduling, and tracking of material flow throughout the production process. This role collaborates closely with suppliers, customers, inventory teams, and production management to guarantee that necessary materials are available to support production timelines. Responsibilities include aligning inventory shipments with production schedules and inventory objectives, as well as developing and maintaining the demand production schedule.
The coordinator also works with suppliers to source and secure the materials required for ongoing production needs.
Responsibility Overseeing the planning and scheduling of materials, managing inventory, coordinating with supplies, and ensuring efficient material flow.
Issuing material releases and managing demand, production schedules, and customer service for a diverse range of customers and products.
Collaborating closely with customers, purchasing, production, and engineering teams to support new product launches and address long-term customer requirements, ensuring daily production and shipping needs are met.
Setting and maintaining supply chain parameters to achieve 100% on-time delivery, while managing inventory levels to buffer against variability.
Leading initiatives focused on continuous improvement and cost reduction.
Serving as a primary liaison between manufacturing operations and customers.
Notifying the Materials Manager promptly of any potential shortages.
Obtaining prior approval from the Materials Manager for expedited freight, part number conversions to address shortages, or procurement from non-direct supplier sources.
Ensuring accuracy and proper management of service components and parts inventory, including quantity levels, part parameters, and obsolescence.
Managing customer portal tickets and responding to customer requests as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Materials Manager.
Complete all the training required Adient and its customers.
Additional Information: Study, implement, and maintain efficient and safe work practices, procedures, and facilities.
Coordinate with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Department and Manufacturing Engineering Department to ensure compliance with safety and efficiency requirements.
Maintain an accident-free, high-efficiency plant operation.
