Job summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking a senior planning and scheduling professional to lead the integrated master schedule for the Mesabi ISP Project, spanning EPCC activities from engineering through commissioning. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 15-20 years of experience in project scheduling and planning on industrial/EPC projects.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
• Strong CPM scheduling, WBS, and EV management knowledge.
• Experience integrating multi-contractor schedules on complex projects.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work with EPC contractors, controls teams, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the integrated master schedule across EPCC activities.
• Establish scheduling standards, WBS, and progress measurement methods.
• Consolidate schedules from EPCs, subs, and vendors into one master schedule.
• Perform critical path analysis, risk assessments, and scenario planning.
• Track progress against baselines; report variances to leadership.
• Coordinate with project controls, cost, and procurement to align schedule and cost.
• Prepare regular status reports, look-ahead schedules, and executive summaries.
• Support recovery planning for delays and critical path risks.
• Lead schedule review meetings with contractors and teams.
• Maintain baselines, change control, and scheduling documentation.
• Contribute to contract negotiations and milestone payment structures.
• Mentor junior planning staff on the project.

Role Summary

Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the integrated master schedule for the Mesabi Integrated Steel Plant (ISP) Project, covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. The role ensures schedule integrity, critical path visibility, and proactive identification of schedule risks across all project disciplines and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the integrated master project schedule covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) activities for the Mesabi ISP Project
• Establish scheduling standards, work breakdown structures, and progress measurement methodologies across all project disciplines
• Consolidate and integrate schedules from EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors into a single master schedule
• Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and what-if scenario planning to support project decision-making
• Track project progress against baseline schedules, identify variances, and report on schedule performance to project leadership
• Coordinate with project controls, cost engineering, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between schedule, cost, and scope
• Prepare regular schedule status reports, look-ahead schedules, and executive-level schedule summaries
• Support schedule recovery planning and mitigation strategies for delayed activities or critical path risks
• Facilitate schedule review meetings with contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders
• Maintain schedule baselines, manage change control processes, and ensure accurate schedule documentation
• Provide scheduling input for contract negotiations, milestone payment structures, and claims analysis as needed
• Mentor and guide junior planning/scheduling staff across the project team

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
• 15-20 years of experience in project scheduling and planning roles on large-scale industrial or EPC capital projects
• Extensive hands-on experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6
• Strong knowledge of critical path method (CPM) scheduling, work breakdown structures, and earned value management
• Experience integrating multi-contractor schedules on complex greenfield or brownfield industrial projects
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work effectively with EPC contractors, project controls teams, and senior project leadership

Working Conditions

• Based in the United States, dedicated full-time to the Mesabi ISP Project
• On-site presence required, with periodic travel to contractor and vendor offices as needed

Preferred Experience

• Direct scheduling experience on greenfield integrated steel plant or heavy industrial construction projects
• Experience with multi-billion-dollar capital project schedules involving multiple EPC contractors
• Professional certification such as PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional) or PMP is a plus
