Job description

• Leads the Planning Team charged with scheduling production activities in support of the assembly plan.
• Develop lot sizing models to minimize setup and inventory carrying cost
• Compares customer demand to stated capacity levels and coordinates action plans where problem areas are identified.
• Retrieve, analyze and evaluate production demand.
• Ensures the production plan meet customer demand and minimum inventory levels.
• Effectively communicates production plan to manufacturing.
• Monitor raw materials, WIP and finished goods inventory levels to minimize investment dollars.
• Utilize established cycle count processes and manage system planning parameters to control inventory levels.
• Establish and maintain inventory locations by utilizing visual management applications.

Job Summary

The Master Scheduler at BorgWarner Transmission Products LLC is responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule to ensure optimal production flow, meet customer demand, and achieve inventory targets. This role involves balancing capacity, material availability, and customer requirements to drive efficient manufacturing operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and publish a feasible and optimized master production schedule (MPS) that aligns with sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory objectives.
• Analyze demand, capacity, and inventory data to identify potential bottlenecks or shortages and proactively propose solutions.
• Collaborate closely with sales, production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding production plans.
• Monitor production performance against the MPS, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage and optimize inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to minimize carrying costs while meeting customer service levels.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) to generate schedules, track progress, and analyze data.
• Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings, providing critical input on capacity, demand, and inventory.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the scheduling function and implement best practices.
• Generate reports and KPIs related to production schedules, on-time delivery, and inventory performance.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding order status and delivery dates in a timely and accurate manner.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in master scheduling or production planning in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive or related industry.
• Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems, specifically SAP, is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a significant advantage.

Salary Range:

$92,800 - $127,600
