Job summary

Comprehensive Treatment Centers in Clarksville, TN is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to support patients with opioid use disorder in an outpatient MAT setting.

The role emphasizes high-quality counseling, treatment planning, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team. A Master’s degree is required, with experience in addiction recovery and MAT familiarity; strong documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in social or health services required and accredited.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings preferred.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, relapse prevention and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care, treatment, and incidents.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments; determine referrals as needed.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's in social/health services

Accredited degree

Experience in addiction recovery/behavioral health

MAT familiarity (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone)

Evidence-based counseling approaches (CBT, MI)

Documentation of clinical notes & treatment plans
