Job summary

Great Dane LLC is seeking a Master Scheduler to generate and publish master production schedules across multiple lines, using JDE ERP and PS tools to optimize throughput. You will coordinate with engineering, materials, and shop-floor teams to ensure accurate labor hours, routing, and sequencing for efficient manufacturing operations.

The role requires 5+ years in planning or scheduling, strong Excel/PS skills, and effective communication to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced plant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree with scheduling experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in Planning or Scheduling.
  • Experience with JDE ERP and PS systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Overview

THE ROLE

The Position: The Master Scheduler generates and publishes the Master Schedules for the manufacturing production process for the manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Standard Labor Hours- New Orders, Change Orders

    • Receiving and reviewing new orders for assigning labor hours to base unit, adding option hours as per sales requests. Identifying new options and assigning the correct hours which is vital to capturing the true cost per trailer. Once hours are assigned, the information/findings is reconciled to the Standard Hours Labor Group who ensures that correct hours, routings, and operation sequences are captured in the NEW JDE 9.1, for Master Scheduling purposes.
    • Monitoring Change Orders that require a change in option hours and/or Trailer Quantity increases/decreases which may affect the cost of the unit and may require changes to the Master Schedules.

    Master Scheduling- JDE 9.1, Excel and PS System

    • Managing and maintaining 4 production lines for the Brazil Facility via the Master Excel Schedule as directed by corporate. This document also coincides with the “NEW” PS (Production Scheduling) System and is linked to the NEW JDE 9.1 system
    • Generating and Publishing PS (Production Scheduling) models to create the best possible schedule for the facility, managing throughput adjustments as driven by sales, ensuring that correct hours are utilized for optimal efficiency and productivity. This published schedule enables Engineering, Materials Manager & Fab Scheduler to provide Engineering BOM’s Drawings, materials, & subassembly work orders, to the shop floor. It also provides HR with precise information for Manpower needs.
    • Strategically placing new trailer/truck body orders in the scheduling process with special limiters. This process requires reviewing sales orders identifying color, width, and special options for efficiency and places the units on the correct line of production.
    • Adjusting schedules as per sales requests to meet customer requirements.
    • Monitor 10, 12 and 14 week window periods for scheduling, materials and sales planning purposes.

    Production Tracking

    • Providing Line schedules for production supervisors for daily work load planning purposes.
    • Maintaining and providing Production Report totals used for tracking starts, completions and inspections of units produced on a daily and weekly basis. Obtain the Re-work and Hold reports for providing information to the Plant and Production manager for day to day planning purposes for achieving targets and goals.

    Manufacturing Reporting

    • Maintaining a compilation of weekly and monthly reports which consist of production tracking, Holds, and Re-work totals. Provide the reporting of information to key corporate personnel. These documents are used for tracking Efficiency & productivity reporting, Gain share, and Goals.

    Additional items:

    • Working with sales and provide information regarding schedules, production tracking
    • Providing information to Corporate Managers
    • Attending daily meetings for planning and or reporting of information to managers. (Sales Order Review, Production, Scheduling meetings etc.)
    • Other duties as assigned

    Ladder II- II: Higher degree of capability and proficiency in all aspects of performance as compared to Master Scheduler I

Qualifications

YOUR skills and abilities (required qualifications)

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree with demonstrated experience in Production Scheduling, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Planning and/or Scheduling, including relevant Supply Chain or Purchasing experience.
  • Skills: Must understand JDE ERP and PS systems
    • Interpersonal skills – must be able to work well with all levels within the organization. Stay focused on improving process and resolving conflict. Be open to others’ ideas
    • Problem solving – identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
    • Oral communication – must be able to speak clearly and concisely to get points of view across.
    • Written communication – writes clearly and informatively; edits work for grammar and spelling
    • Must be able to use Excel, Word and other software products as required
    • Must understand the manufacturing processes.
    • Professionalism – handle all situations and communication tactfully. React well under pressure. Treat others with dignity and respect regardless of role within the company. Accept responsibility for own actions. Follow through on commitments.
    • Planning/Organizing – prioritizes and plans work activities. Ability to work well with others
    • Adaptability – must be able to adapt and be flexible to changes in the work environment.
  • Travel: As needed.
