Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) in Virginia seeks a full-time Plumbing Trades Technician to support skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment. The role requires handling plumbing systems, piping, and related building services with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will work across trades, perform maintenance tasks, assist with events and after-hours support, and contribute to a preventative maintenance program.

Qualifications

• Master level plumbing certificate required.
• Extensive experience with plumbing tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of Plumbing, Gas and Building Codes.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Experience with CMMS and work order tracking.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures (sinks, toilets, valves, water heaters).
• Repair pipes (copper, steel, PVC, CPVC, cast iron, PEX).
• Clear drains using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain appliances (washing machines, dishwashers, fountains).
• Create rough sketches for parts lists and costs.
• Assist other trades (HVAC piping, underground conduit).
• Perform maintenance tasks including tile work and conveyor or equipment lines.
• Assist with events, office moves, and after-hours tasks.
