Edina Seasonal Services in Minnesota is seeking a Master Pest Control Technician to lead structural pest control applications, mentor Journeyman technicians, and ensure all work meets Minnesota Department of Agriculture licensing and safety standards.

This senior, hands-on role requires a proactive leader who can inspect properties, plan treatments, supervise staff, maintain records, and serve as the on-site technical authority for complex jobs while communicating plans and results to customers.

Qualifications

  • Requires Minnesota SPCA Master license or eligibility upon hire.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as licensed SPCA Journeyman applicator.
  • Must have passed MDA Core (Category A) and Journeyman/Master exams with 70%+.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect properties to identify pest issues and recommend plans.
  • Apply pesticides per label and MDA regulations on/around structures.
  • Supervise and mentor Journeyman applicators and technicians in training.
  • Maintain accurate pesticide application records, safety data sheets, and documentation.
  • Serve as on-site technical authority for complex or high-risk jobs.
  • Communicate treatment plans, findings, and follow-up recommendations to customers.
  • Ensure vehicles, equipment, and chemical storage meet safety and regulatory standards.

Job description

Edina Seasonal Services is hiring a Master Pest Control Technician to lead structural pest control applications, mentor Journeyman technicians, and ensure all work meets Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) licensing and safety standards. This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced applicator ready to take on greater technical responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect residential and commercial properties to identify pest issues and recommend treatment plans
  • Apply pesticides in, on, under, and around structures in compliance with label instructions and MDA regulations
  • Supervise and mentor licensed Journeyman applicators and technicians in training
  • Maintain accurate pesticide application records, safety data sheets, and customer documentation
  • Serve as the on-site technical authority for complex or high-risk pest control jobs
  • Communicate treatment plans, findings, and follow-up recommendations to customers
  • Ensure company vehicles, equipment, and chemical storage meet safety and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
  • Active Minnesota Structural Pest Control Applicator (SPCA) license, Master category — or eligibility to obtain one upon hire
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a licensed SPCA Journeyman applicator
  • Passed the MDA Core (Category A) exam and the SPCA Journeyman or Master exam with a score of 70% or higher
  • Must be employed by a licensed Minnesota Structural Pest Control Company (Edina Seasonal Services holds this license)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics, basements)
  • Strong working knowledge of pest biology, pesticide safety, and MDA compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • SPCA Fumigant Endorsement (Category N)
  • Prior experience training or supervising pest control staff
  • Experience with integrated pest management (IPM) practices
  • Category E & L Licenses
  • Willing to be part of the snow removal team during winter months if needed

Pay: $29–$34/hour (approx. $58,000–$70,000/year), based on experience
