Job description

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Responsibilities

• Perform extensive maintenance work on all plant equipment, including electrical repairs.
• Maintain machines, assembly equipment, heating systems, compressors, plumbing, and other plant equipment.
• Apply knowledge of trade fundamentals to address general machine and plant repairs.
• Operate and use various types of power tools, such as hand tools, welders, torches, and maintenance shop machinery.
• Rebuild or fabricate parts for various types of machinery and plant equipment.
• Carry out duties specified in the maintenance schedule under supervisor instruction.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean, safe, and orderly on a daily basis.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, technical manuals, and machine parts drawings.
• Troubleshoot PLC controls, machine controls, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Install new equipment and remove old equipment from shop areas.
• Operate forklift and other equipment as required.
• Assist other maintenance personnel when needed.
• Use CNC G code and conversational controls.
• Communicate effectively with all shop personnel and be willing to train lower-level maintenance personnel.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and skill in plant maintenance and general machine repair.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in all typical plant environments.
• Good working knowledge of PLC controls, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience driving forklift and other shop equipment.
• Willingness to train lower-level maintenance personnel.
