Overview
Master Model Builder – LEGO® Discovery Center Washington, DC at Merlin Entertainments. You’ll be a magnetic performer, a joyful creator, and a role model for guests who dream in bricks. You’ll bring guests into the magical world of LEGO through interactive workshops, exciting builds, and unforgettable guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Be the star of the show: greet guests, host build challenges, and lead creative workshops.
- Build amazing LEGO sculptures and imaginative mini-builds, turning bricks into art and teaching others how to do the same.
- Inspire guests of all ages, from curious toddlers to AFOLs, with engaging, hands-on activities.
- Represent the Discovery Center in media, social content, and PR opportunities; be camera-ready.
- Collaborate with Marketing, PR, and Operations teams to create immersive events and experiences.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Experience)
- Creative, passionate about building (LEGO bricks, 3D modeling, sculpture, set design, etc.).
- Brings original, playful ideas to life beyond licensed IP builds.
- Charismatic and outgoing; able to connect with guests of all ages and break the ice easily.
- Experience hosting parties, camps, or workshops is a plus.
- Ability to engage children across age groups with empathy and enthusiasm.
- Growth mindset: enjoys learning, trying new things, and sharing progress with others.
- Hands-on hobbyist who takes ownership from idea to execution and loves building across mediums.
- Media-friendly personality; comfortable in front of the camera and engaging with guests, media, and online audiences.
- Strong creative portfolio showcasing LEGO or 3D modeling/sculpture builds (required).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong creative portfolio showcasing LEGO or 3D modeling/sculpture builds
- Previous experience in a guest-facing, creative, or performative role preferred
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications/licensures as needed
Additional Information
- Travel: Occasional local travel may be required
- Schedule: Full-time with flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and work on your feet during shifts
- Work Environment: Indoor/outdoor; hands-on; immersive; sometimes noisy but always FUN

Pay Range: From USD $20.00/hr.
