Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Vacaville seeks a Master Maintenance Mechanic to maximize equipment availability in a fully site-based manufacturing setting.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance and provide 24/7 maintenance coverage, supporting contractor oversight and project teams to keep processes running smoothly. The role requires strong CMMS/SAP experience, ability to read P&IDs, and collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Technology, and Engineering to uphold safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong understanding of industrial process maintenance and systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with reasonable accommodations.
• Experience with CMMS and calibration management programs; SAP experience preferred.
• Experience in a GMP regulated environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Timely execution of tasks and work orders with appropriate documentation per SOPs.
• Safe operation of tools and shop equipment; work at heights with fall protection.
• Confined Space Entry in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
• Read and understand piping and instrumentation drawings and technical manuals.
• Use CMMS and standard word processing/spreadsheet programs (Word, Excel).
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Technology and Engineering to ensure satisfactory performance of mechanical systems.
• Train other mechanics on qualified tasks on multidisciplinary project teams.

Job description

Location: Vacaville, California This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards. The primary responsibility of a Master Maintenance Mechanic is to maximize equipment availability for processing by safely maintaining equipment through Preventive and Corrective maintenance and repairs. Responsibility will include providing personnel 24/hours/day, 7 days per week for maintenance, discrepancy response, contractor oversight, vendor resource management, project support and training. All Process Maintenance Mechanics are trained to perform routine maintenance in the primary manufacturing support areas and Materials Management, Quality Control Labs, and Utility Operations.

What you will do

• Timely execution of tasks and work orders with appropriate documentation according to Standard Operating Procedures, applicable standards, guidelines, practices, and policies.
• Safe operation of tools and shop equipment, and safe execution of work in the field; working at heights using fall protection and work positioners.
• Confined Space Entry in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
• Ability to read and understand piping and instrumentation drawings, and technical manuals.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to utilize corporate intranet and applications, CMMS, and standard word processing and spreadsheet programs (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
• Interact and communicate appropriately with Manufacturing, Quality, Technology, and Engineering to ensure satisfactory performance of mechanical systems.
• Train other mechanics in group and individual settings on qualified tasks represent Process Maintenance on multidisciplinary project teams.

Shift

Day Shift : 6:00am - 6:30pm OR Night Shift: 6:00pm - 6:30am
