Hyp-tro Pro in Baltimore seeks a Master HVAC Technician to lead field operations, oversee service calls, installations, and inspections in accordance with code requirements.

The ideal candidate is licensed with 5+ years of HVAC experience, strong leadership and customer service skills, and the ability to coordinate with project teams, inspectors, and clients on complex mechanical projects.

Qualifications

• Active Master HVACR License or equivalent master-level license in MD/DC/VA or applicable jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5 years HVAC field experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential, commercial, and light industrial HVAC systems.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, equipment manuals, work orders, and code requirements.
• Experience with permitting, inspections, equipment startup, and code compliance.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background checks where required for government, school, commercial, or secured facilities.
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise HVAC service, repairs, replacements, installations, maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and indoor air quality system issues.
• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment including rooftop units, furnaces, and ductwork.
• Review work orders, project scopes, mechanical drawings, and field conditions.
• Ensure all work complies with HVAC, mechanical, fuel gas, electrical, and safety codes.
• Pull or support HVAC permits where required based on jurisdiction.
• Perform system testing, startup, charging, balancing support, and operational verification.
• Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, facility managers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Provide accurate documentation including service notes and completion reports.
• Lead, train, and supervise apprentices and technicians on assigned projects.
