Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Master Electrician for a data center project in Richmond, VA, in a hands-on leadership role. You will be the licensed authority to review, approve, and sign off on electrical and low voltage work while guiding field technicians to meet safety and code standards.

Focus is on low voltage scope; duties include troubleshooting power distribution, interpreting drawings and one-lines, inspecting work, and acting as the escalation point for electrical and low voltage issues.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical low voltage systems experience (controls, cabling, data center infrastructure).
• Willing to test, pass and hold additional Electrical and/or Low Voltage licenses in East Coast states (e.g., NC, PA, NY, NJ, MA).
• Experience overseeing electricians & low voltage technicians, while performing installs, troubleshooting, and sign-off.
• Ability to review, approve, and sign off on electrical & low voltage work to ensure code compliance.

Job description

We are seeking a Master Electrician to support a new data center construction project in Richmond, VA in a hands-on leadership role. This person will serve as the licensed authority responsible for reviewing, approving, and signing off on electrical & low voltage work while also overseeing technicians in the field, coordinating day-to-day project execution, and ensuring work is completed safely, correctly, and in compliance with code. The primary focus and responsibility will be Low Voltage scope.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and supporting power distribution and low voltage systems, interpreting drawings and one-lines, inspecting completed work, and acting as the key escalation point for electrical & low voltage issues and approvals.

Must Have:

• 10+ years of electrical low voltage systems experience (controls, cabling, data center infrastructure)
• Ability and willingness to test, pass and hold additional Electrical and or Low Voltage licenses, in East Coast states other than Virginia, such as NC, PA, NY, NJ, MA, etc.
• Experience overseeing electricians & low voltage technicians, while performing installs, troubleshooting, and sign-off
• Ability to review, approve, and sign off on electrical & low voltage work to ensure code compliance

Nice to Have:

• Other VA specialty licenses: DCJS, FAS, UUC, H/H
• Experience in a Supervisor, Foreman, or Project Manager-type role in the field
• Familiarity with multi-site oversight or supporting projects across multiple locations
• Experience working with electrical & low voltage drawings, one-lines, and system validations
• Background in high-availability / mission-critical environments where uptime is key
• A large subcontracting Data Center client holds the VA state license & insurance
• The Master Elec serves as the QI for the subcontractor in VA and no other companies
• The Master Elec will be required to test for / obtain licenses in other East Coast states.
• Compensation 130-140K Salary & Bonus per permit / project they support
